Smiling through pain

Smiling through pain "The fog is like a cage without a key."

If you need someone to talk to or you need an outsider's opinion, I'm here for you. Whatever it is on your mind.

My name is Tiina, I'm 19 years old and been in a relationship for 4 years now. We live together, we've been through a lot and yet he's the one who makes me smile.

So my professor was asking questions.

Reblogged from there-are-monsters-inside-us

  • Professor: Who plans on getting married within the next 5-10 years?
  • Like 3 people: *raises hand*
  • Professor: Who plans on never getting married?
  • Me: *raises hand*
  • Professor: *points me out* why?
  • Me: It's illegal.
  • Professor: touche.

There once was a young boy with a very bad temper. The boy’s father wanted to teach him a lesson, so he gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper he must hammer a nail into their wooden fence.
On the first day of this lesson, the little boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. He was really mad!
Over the course of the next few weeks, the little boy began to control his temper, so the number of nails that were hammered into the fence dramatically decreased.
It wasn’t long before the little boy discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Then, the day finally came when the little boy didn’t lose his temper even once, and he became so proud of himself, he couldn’t wait to tell his father.
Pleased, his father suggested that he now pull out one nail for each day that he could hold his temper.
Several weeks went by and the day finally came when the young boy was able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
Very gently, the father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.
“You have done very well, my son,” he smiled, “but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same.”
The little boy listened carefully as his father continued to speak.
“When you say things in anger, they leave permanent scars just like these. And no matter how many times you say you’re sorry, the wounds will still be there.”

what a lesson

I’m crying.

So today Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy, which is the removal of one’s breasts, to prevent Breast cancer. So instead of praising Angelina on her bravery, men on Twitter decided to ridicule her, even calling her stupid for removing her breasts. For those of you on Tumblr that are attacking Feminists about being delusional about sexism against women and misogyny here’s your fucking proof that sexism and misogyny exists.

This is distressing and awful to see this..

All of them can fuck the fuck off.

I want to stab all of them in the eye sockets

I’m not understanding why… yes they said she had an eighty percent chance of having it.. but they didn’t FIND any cancer. So I’m just not really sure i understand why. Oh well, its her life and if she saw fit to do that as a preventative measure then all the power to her.

Preventative measure. She has a bunch of kids, doesnt want to let cancer take her or even have a chance, so she elected to do it. Bodily autonomy and such.

New streetlamps could improve your view of the stars.
A new paper published in the journal Optics Express describes a system for focusing light from streetlamps directly on the area required, with almost no light leakage horizontally or vertically. Conventional street lamps scatter up to 20% of their energy away from where it is required, not only wasting power but also leading to light pollution which obscures your view of the night sky.
The proposed LED lamp uses a lens to limit where the light is projected, with a reflecting cavity to recyle light that would otherwise be wasted. The team thinks the system would use between 10 to 50% less power to illuminate a section of road than current LED streetlamps, which are already more efficient than regular lamps.
A prototype is being developed and is hoped to be completed this October.
